Resident Spotlight: Beverly Sterling

Beverly Sterling moved to Promenade on the River from San Jose, California, but was born and raised in San Francisco. She is a mother of three, and has one granddaughter.

Beverly spent her career in education where she taught kindergarten for 30 years at an Art and Performing Arts School in San Jose. She has traveled all over Western Europe, and finds Italy to be her favorite country due to her Italian background.

Her hobbies include art, classical music, and drama. Beverly is currently studying at the Nevada Museum of Art to be a Docent as well as to teach Children's Art at the museum through Nevada's R.S.V.P. program.

After searching all over California and Nevada for an active senior living community, she was referred to Promenade by a friend. She attended the weekly "happy hour", enjoying an evening of wine and spirits in the atrium, and felt right at home. "I feel very safe here" Beverly says of the Promenade. She was impressed by the warmth and the helpfulness of the staff through her move-in, the transportation provided for medical appointments and shopping, and she loves the food here. Beverly has made Promenade on the River her new home.
